The Story Behind Pombli
Why we built an AI deal finder, where the name came from, and where we're headed. No corporate speak.
It started with a frustration
We wanted to buy a laptop. We opened 8 tabs from different stores. 30 minutes later we had a spreadsheet comparing prices. The next day, one of the prices had changed.
That's when we thought: **a machine should do this, not a person.**
The idea
What if you could talk to someone who already checked every store for you? Someone who knows what's on sale, what's a good price, and what's smoke. Not a salesperson trying to push something — a friend who knows prices.
That's Pombli.
What's with the frog?
Pombli is our mascot — a green frog that's always watching for the best moment to leap. Like a frog patiently waiting on its lily pad, Pombli monitors prices until it finds the perfect moment to tell you: "now's the time, buy it!"
Also, frogs are cool. We didn't need more reasons.
What we care about
**Keeping it real.** The prices we show are the actual prices. We don't inflate, hide, or sugarcoat.
**Keeping it free.** Stores pay us for referrals, not you. Your price is the same as going direct.
**Keeping it private.** We don't sell data. We don't track purchases. We don't know and don't want to know what you bought.
**Keeping it useful.** If our AI can't find you a better deal than what you'd find on your own, then we're not doing our job.
The team
We're a small crew of people who know technology and are passionate about e-commerce. We're not a mega corporation — we're real people who also shop online and get frustrated by the same problems you do.
